When Godly People Fail - Audio/Video

After the Flood Noah begins a new life in a new world. While enjoying the blessings of God, Noah sins by getting drunk. His son, Ham, mocks and exposes his failure; but his other sons, Shem and Japheth, cover him. This message will cover the issues of Christians and alcohol, godly people failing, and how others respond to godly people when they fall.

The Successful Christian (Part 3)

Ephesians

Learning to sit before we serve is the essence of living a successful Christian life. Too often, we want to do the opposite. Too many of us get busy “serving” Christ without having sat long hours at His feet, listening to His Word. We need more sitters than servers in our times; and a person has no business serving if they haven’t sat. Listen or watch below...

Wrong isn't Relative

Genesis 4:8-16

There were five steps Cain took in his journey towards a “wrong is relative” mentality. This attitude has spread from Cain all the way down to our culture and society today. What are these five steps? How can we avoid them? Download audio here or watch below

Mastering Sin

Genesis 4:1-7

Historically, the doctrine of sin, or harmartiology, began to be revealed by God to man in Genesis 4. Today, through Jesus Christ, we have God’s full revelation of this doctrine as laid down in the New Testament. What can we learn from Cain’s sin? How do we as Christians master sin in our times?

Christ, or Fig Leaves?

When Adam and Eve failed at the Fall they responded in three different ways. They tried to cover themselves, hide themselves, and vindicate themselves. We tend to respond these same ways when we fail today. But, how did God respond to Adam and Eve’s failure? He called to them; and He covered them. This is important because He will respond the same way in our lives as well. Ultimately, each of us tries to fix our sin, failures, brokenness, and hurts in one of two ways: we either try to fix them ourselves; or, we run to God to fix them for us.

Four Steps to Failure

Genesis 3:1-6

There were four steps to failure at the Fall. The same progression that led to Adam and Eve’s spiritual failure happens today in our own lives. This message covers these four steps so we can beware of them and practice avoiding them.

Brokenness

The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. - Psalm 34:18

It may sound crazy, but this has long been one of my favorite verses. I know... But, anyways, it is from the place of "brokenness" that the child of God is closest to God. The simple reason for this is: God cannot share His "highness" with anyone else. When you and I are willing to except that only God is exalted while we abased, He is pleased to dwell with us because our perspective of Him (and ourselves) is right.
